Dr. Keith Warriner

(Bsc, PhD)

Dr. Warriner completed his BSc in Food Science at the University of Nottingham and his PhD in Microbial Physiology within the Department of Biosciences, University College of Wales. Since joining the faculty of the Department of Food Science, University of Guelph, he has performed research in food safety. Relevant research has been focused on determining the dissemination routes of human pathogens from the farm through to the end of meat processing. Current research is determining the carriage of non-O157 Shiga Toxin Escherichia coli, Clostridium difficile and Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus in meat production and processing. The research is being performed with PHAC, Agriculture and Food Laboratories and Pathobiology. His research team is composed of a post-doctoral research fellow, research assistant, four PhD students and four MSc students. Publications
