Dr. Davor Ojkic

(DVM, MSc, PhD)

Dr. Ojkic completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Zagreb in Croatia and then worked in swine practice. He went on to complete an MSc at Brock University followed by a PhD at the University of Guelph. He currently works at the University of Guelph as Virologist and Immunologist and does a variety of consultations related to the interpretation diagnostic results to individuals and organizations such as veterinarians and government agencies. Dr. Ojkic’s laboratory also develops new diagnostic procedures and works on improving existing tests. His interest in poultry research started during his PhD, which was on the subject of fowl adenoviruses. Dr. Ojkic collaborates with colleagues at the University of Saskatchewan, the University of Prince Edward Island, Memorial University of Newfoundland, the Université de Montréal, as well as the National Center for Foreign Animal Diseases in Winnipeg. His work is currently supported by the Ontario Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. Publications
