Dr. Hugh Cai


Dr. Cai received his veterinary degree from China and worked with large animals. He then completed a MSc in microbiology at the University of Ottawa and a DVSc in animal infectious diseases at the Ontario Veterinary College. He currently works in the Animal Health Laboratory at the University of Guelph as a microbiologist. Most of his work involves identification of difficult-to-culture bacteria, including Chlamydophila, Coxiella and Mycoplasma. Currently, he has four permanent staff members and two work study students in his lab. His work is supported in part by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs. Publications
