Michael Brunt (MSc)
Michael Brunt received a M.Sc. in Applied Ethology and Animal Welfare from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph. He is a Registered Master Laboratory Animal Technician from the Canadian Association for Laboratory Animal Science, a Certified Manager of Animal Resources from the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science and a member of the International Society of Applied Ethology. Michael currently facilitates research activities as a Project Manager for Campus Animal Facilities.
Tony has worked at the University of Guelph for 32 years in the CAF Isolation unit.He is the leadhand of the facility running the day to day needs of the building and coordinating room space and availlibility for the researchers . In 2006 he won the first Carlton Gyles support staff excellence award and in 2008 he won the Lab Products Tech award and went to the ALASS conference.He continues to do his best to meet the needs of the animals in his care and to help the researchers any way he can.
Michelle Pitre received an Associate Diploma in Agricultural Business from the Ontario Agricultural College, University of Guelph. She is a Registered Laboratory Animal Technician from the Canadian Association for Laboratory Animal Science. She was the first ever recipient of the Bio Serv Animal Enrichment Award. Michelle is currently the Quality Assurance Research Animal Technician at the Campus Animal Facilities, Isolation Unit.
